Raw Food Diet Problems
There are many problems associated with dieting. Raw food diet problems are no different. First of all, you have the problem that you are trying to change your diet and your body might be screaming for junk food or at least the food you are used to eating.
The Main Raw Food Diet Problem
The largest specific problem with the raw food diet is that of nutrition. The more you move towards a raw food type of diet the more careful you have to be with balancing your food intake. To balance your food intake you have to become a bit of a food techie (That’s polite for Nerd!) and learn what foods contain which vitamins and nutrients.
There are experts online like Frederic Patenaude who set out all the information you need to ensure you eat well and healthily. His information is excellent but you can cut corners by following a diet that is set out for you. They include raw food meal plans and menus that make sure you are eating a full compliment of nutritious food.
Other Raw Food Diet Problems
For people who go for a raw food vegan diet there is the problem of where to get your protein from. For normal vegans this is not a problem as you can include quinoa and other vegetable sources of protein in your diet. The problem comes because you are looking for RAW sources of protein that is not animal based. Again I can recommend Frederic Patenaude for help on what you can eat to cover for diet deficiencies.
The other main problem is that of living in the 21st century with a restrictive diet. You can end up looking like a bit of a weirdo when there is nothing on a restaurant menu that you can order other than lettuce! If you are involved in the business world you will know that entertaining and dining can play a part. Trying to stick to a raw food diet in this situation is very difficult.

I like the raw food idea, but not the vegan part. Sushi seems like it would be a great fit and lots of protien.
My mind is starting to open up to the idea of raw foods. After living in France for a few years I’ve learned that you don’t have to cook food as much as I once thought and some things don’t have to be cooked at all. I think I will go one step at a time though.
I’ve been eating a vegan diet for the six months and am thinking of going raw during the summer to see if I can cope with it. Thanks for the great info!
I agree that Frederic Patenaude is a very knowledgeable man and his information is extremely valuable. Great post – thanks
